Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform various patient care tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Support a patient-centered approach to care by providing assistance with daily living activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; one year of patient care work experience is preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic certification is also accepted.
• Bachelor's Degree or enrollment in a healthcare-related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course is preferred.

Licensure and Certifications

• Basic Life Support certification is required within two weeks of hire and must be maintained thereafter.

Work Environment

• This role requires standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs as needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rotating shifts and overtime as required.
